St Peters
About St Peters
Situated in the heart of the lovely village of Ruddington, and only ten minutes drive from the centre of Nottingham, St Peters offers its residents high quality care in an elegant Victorian house that was once the vicarage of the village church. It has managed to retain many of its original features, whilst being sympathetically converted and developed to provide excellent quality residential accommodation.
A lovely family atmosphere
Anyone who visits St Peters always comments on the warm and friendly atmosphere within the home. The Manager, and all the staff, work really hard to create an environment where residents can enjoy life to the full, and become part of the family atmosphere that makes the home a special place. We want everyone to feel part of a loving and caring community where nothing is too much trouble.
A comfortable home
Our recently extended home is now able to offer 34 of which 19 are brand new ensuite rooms. All our bedrooms are individually and tastefully decorated for residents to make their own. We encourage everyone to bring their own treasured possessions, or personal items of furniture with them, so that they feel they are truly in their own home from home. The house contains some fine original features throughout its communal areas, which include an attractive lounge and dining room with lovely views of the gardens outside. Whether residents enjoy having a chat, reading or perhaps just sitting quietly there is always somewhere in the home for them to enjoy. The gardens to the rear of the home have been beautifully planted and make a lovely area for residents to sit out in during warmer weather, and in summer we like to hold open air tea parties so that everyone can enjoy the outdoors.
Leading a fulfilling life
At St Peters we encourage all our residents to stay as active as possible. In conjunction with them we plan a wide range of activities, with something to suit everyone’s taste. We have two activity coordinators who provide daily events including games of cards, crafts, puzzles, some gentle exercise or good old-fashioned entertainment. Whatever someone’s interests there is always something for them to enjoy.
Eating healthy
We believe that good food is important in helping our residents to stay as fit and healthy as possible. We take care to produce high quality wholesome food in our own kitchens. Our dedicated cooks have a wealth of experience between them and enjoy creating a varied menu for everyone. They are also happy to provide for special requests from residents should they fancy something in particular, perhaps an old favourite they haven’t had in a while. We can also cater for any special dietary needs that anyone has be they diabetic, gluten intolerant or have specific food allergies.
Dedicated Staff
All the staff at St Peters have been selected not only for their professional expertise but also for their family values and warm and caring natures. Our resident’s wellbeing is the most important thing to us and we work hard to ensure that everyone is looked after with dignity and respect, at the same time as retaining as much independence as is possible.
We are always conscious that placing a relative in care can be a traumatic experience, not only the resident but also the family members. We strive to reassure families and loved ones that they are vitally important in helping us to deliver truly individual care by involving them in everything we do, from care planning to fund raising to just making time to listen. Families are as much a part of the daily running of the home as their relatives within our care.
We hope that you will enjoy a visit to St Peters and we are available at any time to help you with making the right choice for you.
